“We fell in love at first sight.” David and Kim Lomakin

David and Kim Lomakin had placed a deposit on a home in another community, but when they saw Andalusia, they changed their minds instantly. Andalusia was the perfect place for this Orange County couple and their 14-month-old twin girls, Annalise and Elianna.

“Everyone’s so friendly and open here,” David says. “We know more of our neighbors at Andalusia than we do in Orange County.”

The community also provides a peaceful retreat from the city lights and crowds along the coast. “Even here, we’re far enough away from the lights and traffic of Palm Desert to see the stars, but are still close to city type services,” says Dave.

The Lomakins enjoy walking, biking, hiking and playing tennis here. Although they weren’t golfers when they moved to Andalusia, they’re learning thanks to the “top-notch” golf staff. And the same goes for tennis. They also dine at Tapas—or dine in, as Tapas will deliver meals, a welcome service with little ones at home.

Another convenience is the recently upgraded and expanded Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport, ten minutes away. David and Kim, who own the air charter company Regency Air, sometimes fly the family in on one of their Hawker 400XP jet aircraft.
