“We’re so active here, we call it 'Camp Doolin.'"
Mike and Shar Doolin

Mike and Shar Doolin love to have their son, daughter and three grandchildren join in the fun at their Andalusia home. The warm winter weather is always a major attraction for the Utah clan. “This year, instead of gathering in the snow, the grandkids spent the holiday in the pool,” Mike says.

The active couple spends nearly half the year at Andalusia. They are both avid golfers—Mike is a 9 handicap, Shar an 18—regularly taking advantage of the Rees Jones championship course. They also hike, bike, play pickleball, use the fitness center and take exercise classes frequently.

Along with exercising, they’ve been indulging in fabulous food at Tapas. They’ve taken cooking classes and often get tips from Chef Frederic. “Now we’re used to eating well,” Mike says. “So we hope to improve our own cooking when we go back to Utah.”

An accomplished car racer since he was 18, Mike has a long list
of victories in the GT class over the years. He has raced in the
24 Hours of Daytona (placing 2nd and 3rd in his class) and the
12 Hours of Sebring. His pride and joys are his two Porsches: a 1997 RSR and a 2007 GT-3 Cup Car. And then there’s his Porsche Panamera 4S, which you will see cruising the avenues of Andalusia.
